We will have a catchup session at the Scout Lodge at 7:00pm, before the regular troop meeting. You will need to bring paper, pencil and an Eagle attitude. We will be putting together our workbooks and going over the requirements & schedule. We will also be discussing the first requirement "What is a Family". See you then. - Mr. Peterson

Dont forget you have a family meeting to organize, a personal project, a family project and that chores list to stay on top of. Keep working on those chore lists and be ready to hand in both of your project descriptions on March 3rd. For any scouts who would like to earn this Merit Badge but missed the first meeting, its not too late. Please be at the Scout Lodge at 7:00 pm (before the scout meeting) February 24th, so that we can catch you up.-Mr. Peterson

- Posted 2/3/2014 2:42:38 PM by Bill Peterson The first Family Life merit badge meeting was held this past Tuesday, where we went over the overall schedule and we discussed requirements 1 & 2. The workbook entry for these requirements is due on February 18th (in your best handwriting). We will not have an official meeting this week. So if you were at that first meeting, you do not have to arrive at the scout lodge early. BUT you will need to bring your chore list (initialed by a parent), to be approved by me sometime during the scout meeting. So please dont forget to bring it. For any scouts who would like to earn this Merit Badge but missed the first meeting, its not too late. If you are interested in earning this Eagle Required Merit Badge, you will need to do the following three things: 1)Purchase a 3-brad report folder with a clear cover. 2)Obtain a copy of the Family Life merit badge book. 3) Signup for the Family Life Blog on the Troop 17 website. - Mr. Peterson

Requirements 1 & 2 need to be completed by the 28th. You should also have your chores list posted and be checking them off every day. Please talk to your parents about possible ideas for both the Personal & Family projects. Youll need a short written discription of each project telling me; who, what, where, when, & why. -Mr. Peterson

For everyone tracking along with the schedule, Requirement 1- "What is a Family" is due. Bring your completed writeup (with a parental signature) and your Blue Card. If you had your Chore List approved last Tuesday, post it up,.. and get to working on it. For everyone else, BE SURE TO BRING YOUR "CHORES LIST" INITIALED BY A PARENT. (Did I mention that the next meeting will not occur until 2/28/12). Next requirements 1&2 "What a Family Is" and "Why I am Important to My Family" should be completed and sign-off by me. Requirement 3 "What Makes An Effective Parent" is due March 8th. Requirement 3 needs to be started by the 8th of March, to do this you will need to fill out the "Chores List Diary" apporved by your parent(s) and initialed by me. See you Tuesday March 8, 2011.

In meeting Family Life we will also discuss the "Chores List" remember you cant start the 90 day chores list diary until it has been approved by the FLMB counselor and your parents. If you have completed the writeup for these two requirements make sure that I have reviewed and that the "Blue Card" entry is made. - Posted 1/27/2011 3:37:48 PM by Job Gonzalez The Family Life Merit Badge meeting was held last Tuesday before the Honor Court, requirements 1 and 2 were discussed and the outline is due Tuesday Feb.1, 2011. At the next meeting we will discuss requirement 3 which is the Chores List Daily Chart and this requirement needs to have a parents initials as approval. Bring the Outlines for requirements 1 and 2. to the meeting next Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the scout lodge.

A schedule of meetings and deadlines for the different requirements will be included in the material. Merit badge scouts should also have a copy of the family life booklet. See you Tuesday.
