- Posted 10/30/2011 7:59:33 AM by Allen Edmonds PMMB will meet Tuesday, 1 November at 6:30 pm. We will have a short review because weve had a two week sabbatical. I hope by now you and your family have discussed Req. #1 and you have some kind of idea on what to research. Also, the scariest thing about last weeks Halloween pre-party was, I only saw ONE budget!!! So, on Tuesday I need to see everybodys budget. Remember, you must finish all requirements by February 14th of next year and your budget covers 13 weeks. Connect the dots and do the math.....time is running out! Use the time management skills we covered back in September and get started. You already have a lot invested in this MB, so just DO IT! Thank you and Ill see you next month. Mr. E

- Posted 9/26/2011 7:35:03 PM by Joy Nelson Welcome to PMMB I hope you are as excited about this Eagle required merit badge as I always am to teach it. Last week, at our first meeting I laid out the framework for this course. This handout will reinforce my expectations of you and the level of work needed to complete all the requirements by 14 February 2012 deadline. 1.Please do your very best to be on time. Unless otherwise stated, class will begin at 6:30 on Tuesday evenings. 2.Be Prepared! Bring the tools of the trade, e.g. pen, pamphlet, a notebook (the paper kind with pockets and brads) with paper in it. Also, read the assigned material prior to class. As a reminder, this is a rather small class and you will be expected to participate in our discussions. 3.ALL work must be TYPED and your answers must follow the format of the requirements in the pamphlet. I will only accept notebooks after you have finished all the requirements. However, I will happy to review your work at any meeting and I WILL be reviewing your 13 week budget several times during the course. 4.As mentioned above, the deadline to finish all the requirements is the 14th of February 2012. Because of the nature of the class, personal management, there are no incompletes or partials. If you fail to manage your time and fail to turn in ALL of your work by the deadline you will have the opportunity to sit through my class when it is offered again next September! Well discuss all the material in class so plan on taking notes. Your notes as well as the information in the pamphlet hold the secrets not only to answering the requirements, but also to building a foundation of life skills. A couple of the requirements will involve your family, so get them involved. Also, parents please take a look at the pamphlet; it is an excellent source for teenagers and adults alike. As always it is an honor and privilege to teach this material to you, the Scouts of Troop Seventeen. I look forward to our class discussions and seeing your growth through Personal Management.
- Posted 9/20/2011 7:56:42 AM by Dan Turner A reminder from Mr. Edmonds...tonight is the first Personal Management Merit Badge Class. - Posted 10/21/2010 5:35:19 AM by Dan Turner PMMB scouts, We are just over a month into our class and Im very pleased with our progress and your participation. This Tuesday we will go over requirements 3 and 4. Please read the requirements, find the answers in the pamphlet write your answers down and be prepared to discuss. As always, bring me a copy of your budget for review. There are less than four months before the absolute final, no excuse, have to take this class over again DEADLINE of February 14, 2011. If you have not yet begun requirement # 2, a.k.a. " the budget", your time is running out to complete the 13 consecutive week time frame. See you Tuesday, same time, same place. Thanks, Mr. E
- Posted 10/4/2010 7:27:09 AM by Dan Turner Hey PMMB scouts, I hope the chapter we studied on time management and setting goals has begun to help you a bit in your daily lives. Most of you have just finished the first six weeks of school and if you continue to apply the tools of time management listed in the PMMB pamphlet, this school year could be your best! Our next meeting is this coming Tuesday, October 5th, same time same place. We will discuss the first two chapters and the requirements that go along with them. Be prepared! As always bring a copy of your budget for me to review. Thanks, Mr. Edmonds
- Posted 9/19/2010 7:49:46 PM by Dan Turner To the scouts in PMMB class, We got off to a GREAT start last Tuesday! Thank you for being on time and for bringing the "tools of the trade" e.g. (thats Latin for exempli gratia, or for example) pen, pamphlet, notebook & a thirst for knowledge. At our first meeting we discussed the requirements and went over what you and I expect from the course. We will meet again Tuesday the 21st at 6:45 pm (1845) at the Harry Male Scout Lodge. Please be on time, because we have a lot of material to cover. Read (and I dont mean skimming at the last minute) the chapter on "time management". Also, begin the section on making a budget. You may begin to frame your budget at anytime. (remember this requirement takes a minimum of 13 weeks) If you are using good personal management skills you will find time to accomplish this before Tuesday. Bring a COPY of your budget for me to review (you keep the original). Thank you, Mr. Edmonds p.s. If you missed the first meeting, get up to speed on the material and be there on Tuesday.
